     When the Light: Night is on the recharging cradle, it emits a dim-colored glow, signifying that it is recharging.  Once removed from the cradle, the Light: Night automatically shines a bright white light. 
     The Light: Night light level can be controlled by pushing a button in the center of the unit, easy for grown-up or toddler hands.  This button allows the light to be toggled from off to the colored glow to the bright white light.
