What Moms (and Dads) Say:
I love the Brest Friend. It was a lifesaver when it came to breastfeeding. I had one at home and one on set when I was working, and I never traveled without it. It's the best; nothing else even comes close.
Mariska Hargitay, mom of August. Olivia Benson, Law and Order SVU
This is a great product. I had the Boppy first but it was uncomfortable because I would have to arch my back to get my baby comfortable, the Boppy was to flimsy. The Brest friend was referred to me and it helped me position my baby better and helped my lower back. My baby loves it he easily falls asleep on it too. I would recommend this to anyone
Mary, mom of Asa
I originally got a Boppy because it seems everyone had them, but then at a breastfeeding class they said this was much better. Man were they right! The Boppy is too soft & the kid just sinks in, not enough support. This is firm foam that holds him up at the right height. It has a little bump to rest his head on also so your hand doesn\\\'t get tired & the removable cover is nice too. This product truly saved my breastfeeding, it was hard for so many other reasons & this made it so much easier. I cannot recommend this enough!
June, mom of Jake
The Brest Friend pillow was one of many items that I would classify as \"must haves\" for new mothers. We were given some of the others, but they didn\'t feel as comfortable and believe me, when my wife was comfortable, my life was comfortable. Not a complicated product, but well designed and really useful, even for me. I\'m not afraid to say that it made its way around my waist a couple of times, and feeding was really calm and peaceful. Anyway, I\'d put it on my top five list for getting a new mother.
Greg, dad of Lilly
My Brest Friend helped to position my premature son correctly while my wife was breastfeeding AND I while I was bottle feeding (Yes, I swallowed my manly pride and used the pillow too ... it made those early feedings go much smoother).
James, dad of Kaleb
What the Experts say:
It takes only one time of use to know the quality of the design over the other pillows out there. I can't tell you how many pillows we sell to moms who started with the Boppy and then used our My Brest Friend in our mothers' room and consult rooms. It sells itself!
- M. Lawson, BA, Ed, CBE, Special Addition, Austin, TX
Our group of Lactation Consultants recommends MBF because it is the nursing pillow that does not need additional support; Boppy needs other pillows to fill the gap created when it slips away from the body.
- A. Stekas, RNC, MSN, IBCLC 10 years, NYU Medical Center
Marin General Hospital excusively uses My Brest Friend in all of our postpartum rooms. They are recommended by our Lactation Consultants as the best nursing pillow on the market for breastfeeding success. It is a 'must have' item for all breast feeding moms.
- Patti Cassidy, Babynook Manager, Marin General Hospital, CA
Imagine the year is 1994 and you have a new baby. Together, you and your newborn will clock over 1,000 hours together at the breast. You look around for something to help you and your baby get positioned comfortably for this special time of togetherness, but find very limited options. You try:
- a bed pillow
- a U-shaped play pillow
- a large teddy bear
- a rolled-up towel
- a sofa cushion
Amazing as it seems, these were the choices available to new moms just 13 years ago. None of these choices stayed in place, and when Moms moved, babies often lost their feeding latch. So mothers would try to stay frozen in place for the whole feeding, which left them sore and uncomfortable.
We know because that's where we came in.
The first pillow specifically designed for breastfeeding
My Brest Friend was developed in a "laboratory" of new moms, babies, and breastfeeding experts who set out to do what no one had done before: create a pillow whose sole purpose was to answer all the needs of breastfeeding moms and babies. Spearheading the effort was inventor "Uncle" Andrew Zenoff, a bachelor who proved that sometimes the best ideas come from those who have just enough distance from a problem to imagine solutions that have never been considered before.
First, Andrew and his team compiled a list of every complaint breastfeeding moms could think of with the existing pillows. The list ranged from lower back pain due to improper support, to poor latch-on, to babies "rolling" inward or away during the feeding due to using U-shaped pillows. This began a lengthy cycle of design and test, followed by redesign and retest until we had built over 50 prototypes in a single year. We poked, prodded, raised, lowered, tightened, loosened, shifted and adorned until, at last, we had a pillow that our mom testers loved so much, they couldn't find a single way to improve upon it. Then, and only then, did we introduce My Brest Friend to mothers everywhere.
12 years later: the pillow loved around the world
Today, My Brest Friend's patented, wrap-around design has made fans in over 20 countries where it is sold, as well as being used in hundreds of NIC units and birthing hospitals. It is the #1 choice of lactation consultants, is sold by La Leche League, and consistently earns raves among nursing mothers, many of whom tell us our pillow has helped them achieve longer holding and feeding cycles with their babies. My Brest Friend has helped over 1,000,000 moms breastfeed their babies. Our stylish new prints and fabrics make My Brest Friend the perfect item to register for or give as a gift.
