Yes, despite the ever increasing cost to ship anything -- even a regular letter -- we offer Free Shipping! To qualify, your order must be over $150.00 with Standard Shipping to a street address within the 48 contiguious United States. All furniture and other select items drop ship directly from the manufacturer,

Free Shipping is also offered on most of our furniture and larger pieces that ship direclty from the manufacturer to you. This is one of the savings we are able to pass on by shipping direct!

We will frequently offer a Free Shipping coupon through our Newsletters and Coupon Clippers. Be sure to subscribe!

If your order qualified for Free Shipping, but there was a shipping charge listed in the shopping cart, don't worry. We process all our orders after they have been checked by a real, live person. This person will remove any shipping charges that should not have been there.

Domestic Rates within the United States

We offer Free Standard shipping on orders over $150.00 within the 48 contiguous States!

Our Standard Shipping method may be First Class for packages weighing less than 1lb, Priority Mail, Parcel Post or UPS Ground. 

We hope that you understand we work hard to control shipping costs at a time when the carriers are finding ways to charge us more every time that gas prices go up, but seldom lower their rates when gas goes back down.

International Shipping

We are pleased to offer international shipping.  Our shipping rates do not include handling, and are taken from the USPS rate charts.  We simply ask you to cover the actual average cost for each package total.  Packages average 6-10 shipping days to delivery, although there can be delays in Customs.  All taxes, duty and fees are the responsibility of the customer, and are not considered or paid by Inventive Parent.

Sale items may be shipped internationally with shipping fees based on the actual postage or the calculated total based on the product's regualr price. We regret that we can not always ship sale items, often as much as 50% off or more, at the normally calculated rate. The shipping alone would often cost us more than the value of the entire order. Please contact us if you wish to ship a sale item internationally. You may place your order through the shopping cart, but the shipping will be adjusted to cover the additional shipping charges.

It may be possible to ship items to international addresses that would normally only ship to a street address within the 48 contiguous Unites States -- furniture, swings, and the like.  When this is possible, we would have the item shipped to one of our offices, and then ship it to you.  We would require that you pay all the actual shipping charges. Please contact us if you wish to do this. You may place your order through the shopping cart, but the shipping will be adjusted to cover the additional domestic charges.

Delivery Time

We strive to have all items in stock and ready to ship.  Orders generally ship within 24 hours, and most orders received by noon ET on a business day ship the same day.

Drop Ship items follow a different schedule. See below for more information.

The vast majority of our products ship from our warehouse in Michigan.  This central location offers better, more speedy service throughout the United States and serves our Canadian customers well.  Packages shipping from this warehouse will be marked as coming from a fulfillment center. 

Items ship from the warehouse via First Class Mail, Priority Mail, UPS Ground and expedited services.  While Priority Mail averages 2-3 days throughout the US, this Ground Services map will give a good indication of how long it will take for your order to arrive. 

Drop Shipping

Selected items will be shipped directly from the manufacturer via ground service through UPS or FedEx.  Such drop-ship items must be delivered to a street address within the 48 contiguous states.

We arrange to "drop-ship" for a couple reasons:
1. We help to save the environment by not trucking large, heavy items twice, once to our warehouse and again to your house. It just makes sense to reduce our carbon footprints whenever we can.
2. We save you money by not having to pay to ship these items twice. Shipping is expensive, and we would not be able to offer free shipping on most furniture items if we stocked these items at our own warehouse.

Drop-ship items may require additional processing time; please also allow up to 15 additional shipping days for these items to arrive.  Shipping days are generally business days, but because the carriers may use a different holiday schedule than we do, we measure the delivery time in "shipping days."  

We work hard to keep our shipping costs, and fees, as low as possible. We've wrestled with our policies, looked at various models. The model that asks the customer to pay the actual freight based on weight and zone may be the most direct, but as customers we find it hard to understand. So we have created a graduated plan that usually covers most of our shipping costs.

That said, there are some products that are heavy for thier price, if you will. When we would be so beaten up by the shipping on a product that we would have to drop it from our shop, we sometimes ask that you pay an additional $1 or $2 toward the shipping cost.

An example of this is a very popular item that would normally charge $6.79 to ship to you. It weighs about 1.5lbs when packed to ship, and therefore requires about $9.01 in postage. Our actual cost to ship each of these is $11.01 when you add in the packing materials, etc. We ask that customers contribute an additional $1 to ship this item so that we can keep it in our shop.

That said, most of the heavy items that other shops would ask an additional $30 or more to ship, we ship to you for free. Not a bad deal overall.
